How much does a .bg domain registration cost?
35.00 € for the first year, same price on renewal. That includes DNS management, transfer lock and renewal reminders. Registration goes through a form to Register.BG and takes about one business day.
Why does .bg take longer to register than .com?
International extensions register electronically within minutes. For “.bg” the registry requires a signed form from the owner, reviewed by a person. Paying alone does not reserve the domain: it is reserved once the form is submitted, and stays yours for 30 days.
What is the difference between a protected and an unprotected .bg domain?
An unprotected domain needs only the signed form, no documents, and works like any other. A protected one requires grounds — a company name, trademark or publication. That gives you an advantage if someone disputes the domain.
Can I transfer a domain from another registrar?
Yes. You need a transfer code from your current registrar and the domain must not be locked. The days left until expiry are not lost - they are added to the new year.
Is hosting required when registering a domain?
No. A domain works on its own and can point to another server, to a ready-made platform, or only to your mail.
What happens if I do not renew the domain in time?
We write 30 days before the deadline and again in the final week. After expiry the domain enters a redemption period where it can still be recovered — but with a registry fee.
Who owns the domain after registration?
You do. We are only the registrar. The holder details are yours and you can move the domain elsewhere at any time.
